Curating the future of claims automation: Kyber's 2025 product roadmap
In a behind-the-scenes interview, our Founder and CEO, Arvind Sontha, shared three groundbreaking initiatives on Kyber’s product roadmap that promise to transform how insurance teams handle claims and beyond.
When we launched Kyber, our goal was to tackle the most tedious and time-consuming aspects of regulatory workflows. Over the past few years, we’ve honed our focus on using AI to bring efficiency, accuracy, and automation in claim processes. Joining Y Combinator helped us accelerate this mission. Fast-forward to today, and we're closer to achieving that goal than ever before, with enterprise customers reporting a 65% reduction in time spent drafting claim notices alone.
However, we're not fans of resting on our laurels, and we're eager to build on this success with a bold product roadmap for 2025.
In a behind-the-scenes interview, our Founder and CEO, Arvind Sontha, shared three groundbreaking initiatives on Kyber’s product roadmap that promise to transform how insurance teams handle claims and beyond.
Let’s dive in.
Enhanced self-service capabilities
Empowering your teams will be a core focus of Kyber’s 2025 product roadmap, which is why we’re kicking off the year with vastly improved self-service capabilities. This includes giving teams full control over their workflows, tools, and document processes so they can operate with greater flexibility and efficiency.
A feature we’re especially excited to introduce is user-defined AI templates. These templates will enable you to create custom document workflows and support dynamic outputs, such as tables and context-reactive elements. One of the most powerful applications of this feature is our generative AI-powered policy reasoning, which can extract key information from complex documents and adapt outputs based on the claim at hand and policy specifics. Whether it’s summarizing estimates from a PDF into a table or generating a document tailored to nuanced policy rules, you can define and manage everything yourself – without relying on us to handle the process.
But it doesn’t stop there. Our self-service initiatives will also include:
- Parameter management: Adjust regulatory clauses, compliance settings, and notice templates directly within the Kyber platform.
- Permissions management: Define your unique roles and permissions, giving teams access to the resources they need while maintaining security every step of the way.
We’re targeting a V1 for these self-service improvements by the end of Q1 2025.
"With self-service AI templates, you’ll have the power to define your own document workflows, enabling dynamic and tailored outputs like tables and context-reactive elements, all without relying on Kyber to manage the process." — Arvind Sontha, Founder and CEO of Kyber
Comprehensive eSign integration
Our next initiative for 2025 is to build a seamless eSign workflow into our platform. This workflow will simplify the way your teams process critical documents, from medical releases to title transfers and property schedules.
Unlike legacy solutions like Docusign, our eSign functionality will be fully integrated with existing claims and policy systems. This means once a document is signed by a claimant or policyholder, Kyber automatically syncs it back to your system of record, along with all relevant compliance notes. Your days of spending hours manually downloading and reviewing executed documents are long gone.
Let’s say you’re processing a property schedule after a hurricane. With this integration, your team can electronically send any documentation for signature, collect approvals, and sync the completed schedule back to your claims system, all without switching between platforms. The result? Your team processes the claim faster while eliminating the potential for human error every step of the way.
Here’s what else our eSign integration will deliver:
- Unified workflows: From initiation to signature, the entire process happens within Kyber, removing the need for external tools.
- Compliance-first design: Completed documents are automatically stored with compliance notes, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
- Time savings: Adjusters and business users can focus their bandwidth on resolving claims, not managing documents.
This feature is just another way we’re helping insurance teams work smarter, faster, and with greater precision. We’re planning to release a V1 by Q1 2025, with full features expected by the end of Q2.
"By integrating eSign capabilities directly into claims workflows, we minimize the need for manual steps like downloading executed documents. Everything syncs seamlessly back to the system of record, which saves time and reduces errors."
Extension into policy administration
Last but certainly not least, we’re expanding Kyber’s capabilities beyond claims processing into policy administration. This initiative is a natural evolution of our platform, ensuring we can address a broader range of document management needs across the insurance lifecycle. By supporting notices like cancellations, non-renewals, and proof of repair, we’re creating a unified document management solution that serves claims teams as well as underwriting and policy administration departments.
This expansion will also position us to better serve enterprise insurance organizations that require end-to-end document management that spans multiple stages of the insurance lifecycle.
Here’s how this extension will benefit your team:
- Comprehensive coverage: From underwriting to policy changes, we’ll support multiple functions that are critical to policy administration workflows.
- Streamlined processes: With Kyber, claims teams and policy administration departments can seamlessly manage documents within a single platform, reducing complexity and improving operational efficiency.
This extension represents a major step forward for Kyber, and we’re excited to partner with more enterprise-level organizations as we continue to innovate and expand. Currently, we’re scoped to introduce our policy administration capabilities by the end of Q3.
"To deliver more robust solutions to our enterprise-level clients, we’re expanding beyond claims into policy administration. Starting with notices like cancellations and non-renewals, we will create a unified document management solution that covers a greater area of the insurance suite."
Our vision for 2025 and beyond
As we move into 2025, our vision and product evolution are wholly driven by you — our customers. The majority of our priorities this year are shaped by the feedback you shared in syncs and support tickets, ensuring our focuses perfectly align with what you need most from Kyber.
Of course, our team is also focused on implementing strategic moves that will help us scale and serve larger organizations, like our extension into policy administration. This balance enables us to solve today’s pain points while preparing for tomorrow’s challenges.
As we look to the future, we’re excited by the transformative potential of our 2025 roadmap. For example, our user-defined AI templates have applications that go beyond insurance, paving the way for innovation in financial services and other regulated industries.
"As the property and casualty insurance industry transitions into a soft market, companies are starting to regain financial stability. This means insurers will have more resources to invest in innovative solutions like Kyber, which will enable them to streamline operations, improve customer experiences, and stay ahead in a competitive market."
We encourage our customers to stay tuned for updates as these exciting features roll out.
