Kyber's Q1 2025 Update: Modernizing Claim Correspondence Alongside an Evolving Industry

Our team's recap of the wins Kyber secured in Q1, plus a sneak peek into what we have planned for the coming months.

Since launching Kyber in 2022, the theme has been continuous growth. Between partnering with industry-leading carriers and expanding the use cases surrounding our platform, our team has been on a tear, helping our customers serve thousands of claimants more efficiently.

Our team kept that drive throughout Q1. Over the past few months, we've been laser-focused on strengthening our security credentials, implementing customer feedback into updates, and expanding our in-house resources. Each of these steps gets us closer to achieving our core mission: transforming claims correspondence from a burden to a competitive advantage.

Let's dive into a few highlights from Q1 2025, as well as what lies ahead for Kyber in the coming months.

"We got a lot of validation surrounding Kyber's product during 2024 in terms of pipeline growth and customers. But the metal really hit the road in Q1 as these new customers started getting activated and saw firsthand how Kyber could supercharge their claim workflows."
— Arvind Sontha, Founder and CEO of Kyber

Kyber is Officially SOC 2 Type II Certified

A major highlight from Q1 was attaining SOC 2 Type II certification. This data security milestone solidifies Kyber's position as an enterprise-grade claims solution, expanding our addressable market to larger carriers while reinforcing the trust our partners have already placed in us.

This certification is especially important in an industry where data protection is essential. Today's insurance carriers, MGAs, and TPAs demand enterprise-grade security to prevent fraud, costly data breaches, and compliance shortcomings. Kyber's SOC 2 Type II certification confirms our commitment to delivering on that requirement.

Streamlining Common Claim Scenarios with "Quick Decisions"

Another exciting feature launch from Q1 was the implementation of "Quick Decisions," which enables adjusters to handle routine claims with ease.

Let's say you're a carrier that frequently processes claims for water damage related to faulty pipes. Rather than having adjusters craft explanations for a partial denial from scratch each time, they can select "Limited Water Damage - Faulty Pipe" within Kyber to generate an accurate explanation using our AI.

The best part? Kyber's AI-generated explanations include the specific policy language section for the claimant to reference to contextualize the decision. As a result, your team spends less time designing prompt inputs, and policyholders still receive the top-notch service they've become accustomed to.

Enhancing the Self-Service Potential of Our Platform

As our customer base has grown, our team has listened carefully to what you've been asking for: more control and flexibility within Kyber. We took this feedback to heart and asked ourselves: "How can we empower our users while also enabling our team to buy back time to focus on building new and innovative features?"

Our answer? Introducing robust self-service capabilities that put you in the driver's seat.

Parameter Management: Your Templates, Your Rules

To start, we've expanded Kyber's organizational parameters to enable claims teams to move faster and scale templates as their business grows, without worrying about the brittleness that plagues manual template libraries.

This feature provides admins complete control over the information that Kyber automatically pulls into templates. Now, expanding to new lines of business or jurisdictions (which require new stats-specific language) is far easier for carriers.

The benefits extend to TPAs as well. Say you're working with hundreds of clients, each with its own disclaimers, logos, and language requirements. Adding a new client and their corresponding assets into Kyber may have required reaching out to our team and waiting for implementation. Now, your admins can manage this process in minutes, using our seamless UI to guide them through each step.

Parameter Management deepens the suite of use cases your team can unlock from your claim system integration, enabling them to scale and update internal processes in lockstep.

Upgraded Admin Controls: Assign User Roles without Friction

Another self-service initiative our team shipped in Q1 was enhancing admin controls to simplify user management. Altering the permissions and contact information surrounding teams used to require admins to reach out to Kyber for assistance. With our updated user management workflows, they can easily assign roles, deactivate users, and onboard new team members with pre-defined permissions and contact information — all within Kyber. Once onboarded, users can also modify their contact and license information from their profile page.

Launching Our eSign Beta

Kyber's eSign beta has officially dropped! With it, your claims teams can process critical documents (like medical releases or property schedules) much more efficiently.

Unlike legacy solutions (like Docusign), our eSign functionality fully integrates with your existing claims and policy systems. Once a document is signed by a claimant or policyholder, Kyber automatically syncs it back to your system of record with all relevant compliance notes.

Let's say you're processing a vehicle total loss settlement. Your team can electronically send release forms for signature, collect approvals, and sync the completed documents to your claims system without switching platforms. The result is faster claim processing with fewer errors.

These use cases are only the beginning. We expect to have this workflow completely rolled out by the end of Q2 2025, so stay tuned!

"eSign is critical to our product roadmap. Adjusters were already creating these forms in Kyber, but they had to manually send them over, get them signed, and then upload them back in. We built this feature to get them out of that paper-chasing loop." — Arvind Sontha, Founder and CEO of Kyber

Growing Our In-House Team

Last but certainly not least, we're excited to welcome Anna Conger as Kyber's first growth hire! Anna joined us at a critical inflection point, helping deepen our footprint in the insurance industry and scale go-to-market efforts across the board.

Anna brings years of experience leading content strategy, automation, and process design for Fortune 500 teams in highly regulated industries. She's spent her career helping organizations modernize how they communicate, turning manual workflows into scalable systems powered by AI.

At Kyber, Anna is driving growth across the board: shaping our narrative, leading campaigns, and accelerating how we reach and support the claims teams we serve. If you've seen Arvind on camera talking about Kyber, you can thank (or blame) Anna.

Our Roadmap for Q2

With Q2 in full swing, our team is eager to expand the functionalities of our platform while deepening our connections with other insurance industry leaders.

Deepening Our Claims System Integrations

Our team's end goal is to make Kyber your single command center for claims correspondence. After seeing how overwhelmed adjusters can get from constant system switching, we're deepening our integrations with leading claims platforms.

Between securing official partner status with Guidewire and developing iframing for Snapsheet, we're curating a unified experience where adjusters can access our document generation tools without leaving familiar environments.

"Chief claims officers are motivated to create a single pane of glass experience. When adjusters have to jump between 50+ systems to process a single claim, it creates inefficiency and frustration. Embedding Kyber into these existing systems eliminates these pain points while preserving the workflows teams already know." — Arvind Sontha, Founder and CEO of Kyber

Shipping User-Defined AI Templates

In the coming months, our team is scoped to roll out one of our most requested features: user-defined AI templates. These templates will enable your team to create custom workflows and support dynamic outputs, such as tables and context-reactive elements.

The most exciting benefit of this feature is Kyber's AI-powered policy reasoning, which pulls key information from documents and adapts outputs based on the specific claim and policy. Whether it's summarizing estimates from a document into a table or generating a letter tailored to unique policy rules, you're fully equipped to handle the process from end to end.

Meeting Face-to-Face with Other Industry Leaders

With conference season in full swing, our team has been very busy, attending both PLRB and CLM. It was an excellent opportunity to reconnect with old friends while engaging in conversations surrounding AI adoption and macro trends impacting P&C carriers. We'll be making several more conference appearances soon; drop us a line on LinkedIn if you're eager to meet the team in person!

Beyond conferences, we've officially launched "The Claims Circle," an exclusive dinner series for claims executives. The inaugural event kicked off in Columbus, Ohio, this month, where our team brought in a small group of leaders across different roles and backgrounds, all with a stake in where the insurance industry is going and how it gets there. We discussed everything from hiring pressures and retention, to collaboration between underwriting and claims, and how it has evolved alongside technology. It was refreshingly informal and felt like the start of something worth continuing.

"The Claim Circle dinner provided an excellent chance for claims leaders to engage in meaningful connections. It was a pleasure to be part of such a thoughtful and candid event. Looking forward to the next gathering and seeing how this initiative continues to grow and impact our industry." — Jennifer Snyder, Claims Litigation Manager at Ohio Mutual Insurance Group

But Columbus was just the beginning. We already have gatherings scheduled at two East Coast locations in the coming months. Each gathering features a private chef and brings together thought leaders and CCOs for focused discussions on the future of claims. We'd love to see you there!
